I started sharing my goals last month and to be completely honest, I forgot about some of them until I did my recap blog. This month I'm going to try to write them down and keep them somewhere I will see them frequently, like the fridge or our bedroom mirror.
HOME:
- I'd like to continue working on our living room. We have an old recliner that needs to go to the dump (Matt seems to be very attached to it, and I think that's why he hasn't managed to get it there yet). We also may need to purchase a new recliner. (We inherited a newer recliner, but it's not as big as the one we need to get rid of and Matt doesn't like it as well)
- Get the old couch out of the garage (donate to Chattanooga Furniture Bank). This should be EASY. The furniture bank will pick it up, I just need to schedule the pick up. And considering how many people lost their homes I know someone needs it more than we need it sitting in our garage.
Truthfully there are SO many things I want to do with our house, but I just want to get the living room fixed up first.
MARRIAGE:
- I'm recycling this goal from last month. Try to do at least one new thing with Matt. Maybe at this point I should just put "FIND new thing to do with Matt" and mabye eventually we'll actually do it!
- Date night? This one might be hard to fit in this month. We've got Mother's Day, my birthday, and Memorial Day all this month and those tend to be very friend and family heavy occassions, so there may not be a whole lot of "us" time. I also think date night is going to have to at least start out on the weekends because we both tend to not want to do anything after work.
- Daily Guidepost. My Nana bought us a Guidepost book for Christmas, and we wanted to try to read it together, since we rarely get to go to church (he works every Sunday). We're WAY behind though, and I'd like to catch up. I really feel they help us put things in perspective and realize what GOD wants for us instead of what WE want for us.
MISC:
I'm not really sure I have any of these this month. I know I'll be seeing my friends fairly often this month, as Alex and I both have birthdays. If I think of anything, I'll add it later!
Here's hoping this month goes a little better than last month!

April Goal Review
At Home:
-Get the living room "guest" ready. Matt and I both have a terrible habit of setting things down and then leaving them there. This creates a BIG mess! My mom is helping me work on the living room to make it look nicer and more guest friendly, so I would LOVE to get this done in April.
Complete...ish! We still have some ways to go to get it completely "guest ready", but we made some serious progress this month!
-Cook dinner at least 4 nights a week (I did this last month, but it's something I would really like to continue since it's healthier AND saves us money).
Complete! This is a great goal, that I plan to continue.
Marriage:
- Do something new with Matt. By "new" I just mean something out of the ordinary. We pretty much do the same things all the time, and we've been homebodies a lot lately. I've read LOTS of articles that say doing things outside of your routine helps you bond.
Yeah we really didn't do this at all...but it's a great idea and hopefully we will get to it next month. My birthday is in May, so I know we'll be doing a lot of things for that.
- Date night once a week. I don't know if this will actually happen this month, but I love the idea, so I'm putting it here so that I won't forget!
Again, didn't happen. There are LOTS of movies we want to see coming up soon though, so maybe we will make this happen in May.
Misc:
-Spend at least 3 nights with friends. I know of at least one that is a given since Steph's birthday is next week! And I guess I could count dinner with Sabrina and Tara Friday and Grayson's soccer game with Samantha Saturday, but I'm not going to!
Complete! I actually spent MORE than 3 nights with my wonderful friends!
- Get some exercise (especially outdoors) 3 times a week. Since I've rejoined Weight Watchers, I really need to start being more active. And I love to be outside, so both I could easily kill two birds with one stone here!
This didn't really happen, however I did walk with my friends a couple of times and we are going to try to make it a weekly habit. I've been standing up most of the time at work instead of sitting down now too, so I feel like that is a move in the right direction.
Well for my first time doing this, I felt like I did an ok job...now onto May!
